I’M DONE! (And that’s a good thing)

Hello my lovely cat people!

I would like to inform you all that yesterday I have finished my first year at uni!! And what a ride it has been…

I feel like my exams went well (probably because I only had two this time ;P ), still waiting on a few assignments’ results, but hopefully I’ll know soon. 🙂 I feel like I’ve achieved a lot more this semester as well than the first semester at uni. I was definitely more focused on making friends the first few months that I’ve moved in, because it’s hard to make friends in a completely different state, even though it is still the same country.

In terms of friends, I feel like I’ve established several good friendship groups, and I’ve definitely challenged myself to get to know as many people as possible and not hang around the same group of people like I did in college last year. I’m not saying it wasn’t fun hanging out with the same group of friends, because it definitely was, and it still is, since I’m friends with them. But if they weren’t around, I didn’t really have anyone to talk to. So I felt like if I made a lot of connections at uni, that won’t happen. And I definitely didn’t want that to happen in a new state.

In terms of my study in general, I feel like I’ve improved with my time management so much this semester, and I’ve definitely had a lot of motivation to keep studying and doing my best. This is what comes from choosing the subjects/courses you really feel passionate about. So definitely DEFINITELY do that if/when you’re going to uni.

And I’ve most definitely learnt a tonne about how to take care of myself. I’ve become a lot more independent, and am feeling a lot more confident than I did about living alone (without my parents or a roommate).

In short, I’m definitely excited for next year, but I am also looking forward to a much needed break for now. 🙂

In terms of blog posts, I’ll try and be somewhat regular, but won’t make any promises. I’ll definitely aim to be a lot more active than I was the past couple of months. Hope that is okay with you all. :3

I am so happy to have all this time freed up though. Who knows what I might post about soon..? 😉

I love you all~! ❤

Yo…

Hello my lovely cat people!

So, I won’t be finishing the A-Z Challenge for the first time in 3 years (I know, right?). Several reasons for that: I felt like I had to keep posting, even though I didn’t necessarily want to (eg. I had to keep coming up with ideas and writing posts I wasn’t really happy with); I didn’t feel like you guys were enjoying the posts also; plus the challenge has run its course for me, I think.

A few things coming up: might post some short stories soon, or I might find another challenge to do. Either way, I think this challenge is finished for me. For anyone wishing for me to complete the challenge, I am sorry if you were continuously reading my posts = but it became super tiring for me.

I love you all~! ❤

S and T are for Sherlock the TV Show

Hello my lovely cat people!

Seeming I’ve missed so many days already, I thought it would be nice to combine two letters at once and write about one of my favourite things – Sherlock. I may have mentioned this before, back in 2014 when I went to London with my dad, or even previously before that, but this is one of my absolute favourite series to watch.

I’m sure most of you would’ve heard about Arthur Conan Doyle, who’s the genius behind all these works and who’s inpired people to make this wonderful series. So yeah, this Britis show is based on his works, and the writers, Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, have adapted it to screen!

Each season has 3 episodes, which are 1.5 hours each. So technically, you’re getting to see three movies in three weeks for free! That is also why it takes so long for each season to come out. But, with the growing popularity of Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock) and Martin Freeman (Watson), it is also difficult to get the two actors to film together, as they both have projects they’re working on.

My favourite season by far would have to be season 3 – it is definitely the funniest and most entertaining to watch! The Christmas Special that came out this year – The Abominable Bride – was also quite good and explained a lot of things from season 3 that weren’t touched on in the season itself.

The actors in this show are also doing amazing work – their characters are complicated in their own way, and they do a brilliant job of explaining who they are, what they do, how they feel, etc.

So basically, this show has everything – amazing cast; brilliant and complicated writing that connects together perfectly (since it’s a mystery show, the “solving” part of the mystery has to make sense) and is hilarious; and it keeps the viewers on their feet. I highly recommend this show more than any other to people, and the wait for every season is definitely worth it.

So that’s all from me. 😛 I love you all~! ❤

R is for Readings

Hello my lovely cat people!

Now, this post isn’t what you think. This is more me providing you with another little update on my university life.

Now, in case you don’t know, for your courses at university, you get assigned specific readings that you have to do either every week or every couple of weeks, depending on what courses you do. And you have either lectures, in which something like 200+ people sit in a lecture hall at one time to listen to the course content. Or you have tutorials, where, in groups of about 25 people or so, you break down this lecture content and do most of your assessed work. And your readings would most likely be a part of your tutorial rather than your lecture classes.

Most of the time, readings are pretty boring and can get repetitive. Although if you enjoy the subject, it could be less tedious. Then your tutors would usually assess the readings in class, either by asking you a question during that time, or by making you write a response based on those readings.

So yeah, I’ve been doing a few of those lately. And they kinda suck. But you do learn a lot from them, and it’s probably the easiest to prepare for these, too. 😛 So, my advice, start readings early and actually pay attention to them, because more often than not, you’re going to be asked something about them in class.

I love you all~! ❤

Q is for Questions

Hello my lovely cat people!

I have so many questions about life right now! Like, what will happen when I finish uni? Where will I get a job? Will I be in a relationship? It’s a lot to think about. 😛

But it’s too early to get myself worried and worked up over this. 😛 Although it is interesting to think about.

For example, back when I was in high school still, I thought that all my friends that I had then would still be my friends now. But, of course, that wasn’t really the case. 😛 People change a lot, and so do you, no matter how much people tell you otherwise. I mean, sure you might still like cartoons, video games, and comics, but you could also like going out with your friends and partying until dawn. So it’s not only you that decides to do different things. Your friends also shape you into a different person as you grow older. And you could learn a lot of things from your friends, too.

In saying that though, in high school, I would’ve never thought I would end up on the mainland studying at uni. And even back in Russia, I would’ve never guessed I’d be moving to Australia. So I guess what I’m trying to say is, don’t plan out your life too much. It’s okay to wonder about where you might be in the next, say, 5 years. But don’t actually start planning your life to the point that you set up a schedule every Sunday for the rest of your life. You need to have things that happen unexpectedly, too. Even if you plan out every single detail, there will still be some parts that you can’t prepare for. And that is completely okay. 🙂

So, enjoy life as it comes at you. Every moment: good and bad (I hope you know what I mean here 😛 ). Learn from them, remember them, get support from your friends and family if you need, and tackle life a little bit at a time.

I love you all~! ❤

P is for Pretty Little Liars

Hello my wonderful cat people!

Okay, so I kind of hate myself for it, but I’ve gotten addicted to PLL. :p And don’t get me wrong, it’s a pretty good show, but there are still assumptions being made when you tell people you watch this show. XD

Anywho, for those of you who are not onboard with the PLL train, it’s a murder mystery/thriller/drama kind of show. The storyline revolves around 4 teenage girls who try to uncover the murder of their deceased friend, and who keep getting harassed by this stranger called A. And so the show has some romance scenes in there, as well as some okay storyline. I wouldn’t say that the mystery aspect is that great, (especially if you compare it to shows like Sherlock) but it’s kinda fun to try and guess who A is and to connect all the dots. I feel like that’s probably the only reason I watch the show. 😀

Also, for fans of PLL, there’s a great YouTube channel you should check out that does really funny spoof versions of this show. It’s called SimGM Productions, and they make sim versions of all the characters, and the voice acting is actually quite good! 😀 Anyway, it’s super funny and you’ll definitely chuckle at the references from the show. Thought I’d mention the channel for fans who like watching parodies of the shows. :p

Anyway, that’s pretty much it for me today. I’m a bit tired, and I can’t think of anything else to add to this post, so I hope you enjoy it. :p

Have a great weekend, and I love you all~! ❤

O is for Orphan Black

Hello my lovely cat people!

I thought I’d talk to you about another one of my favourite shows, which is Orphan Black! It’s a UK original series, I believe, and it’s a sci-fi, action, mystery/drama kind of show. It has everything really. 😛

What it also has is a great storyline and an amazing cast. The story is based around Sarah, one of the many clones that were created in the name of science. Unfortunately, can’t go any further than that, since it will spoil the show. 😛 But, what makes it so great, is that all the female clones are played by the same, extremely talented actress, Tatiana Maslany. (I hope I spelt that right XD ) The characters she plays have to be very different from each other, otherwise the audience wouldn’t be able to differentiate between them. As an actor, it’s hard enough playing one different role in a TV show or movie of any kind. But this actress has decided to sign on to a project where she plays all different characters in the one series. And she does a brilliant job of that – her acting is very believable, and you can definitely see the difference between the characters that she plays. It’s amazing!

Also, since the show is done with clones, there would be so much editing involved! Not only that, the storyline would have to make a lot of sense, since there’s a lot of back story of the characters, why/how they were clones, who did it, etc. So the writers would be working their butts off for the show as well. 😛 I mean, as a person who’s acted, and who’s written before, I can definitely appreciate this work from both aspects: as a viewer and as a creator. This show has earned so much of my respect. And Tatiana Maslany is basically the female version of Leo DiCaprio with all of her different characters that she portrays.

Honestly guys, if you have the time, Orphan Black is one of the greatest sci-fi shows on TV right now. Please check it out if you can, it’s so so worth it!

I love you all~! ❤
