‘E’ is for Elephants

Hello my lovely cat people!

Today, I’m going to talk to you about one of my favourite animals – elephants. There are many reasons to like them, some of mine are their memory and their personalities. They are truly amazing and smart and beautiful creatures. They remember EVERYTHING, in case you guys didn’t know. šŸ˜‰ This is why it is important not to mistreat an elephant if you ever meet one, because if you ever meet the same one again, they will not like you.

One of my favourite movies, which happens to be about elephants, is called Water for Elephants. It combines two things that I really like, which are circus and animals. So I find that extremely appealing. The movie has been out since about 2011, I think, and it stars Reece Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson (who is not a sparkly vampire or dying Cedric, for once!), who both did a fantastic job, in my opinion. The film is based off a book, if you want to have a read. It bares the same title, so it shouldn’t be too hard to find. The story is set in the 1930’s and is based around the story of the Benzini Brothers Circus, which I believe is not real, as I did some Googling. If you want to do some research yourself, feel free. Some stuff I found on a similar circus called, Ringling Brothers (which also has things to do with elephants, but I don’t go into too much detail), is quite horrific, but if you’re interested, once again, feel free to do some research.

What I really like about the story is that the movie really shows what circus elephants are like when they are treated poorly and well. They are shown to be loyal and kind, if the person is also caring and kind in return. They are shown to be intelligent and very smart, of course, and also displaying quite a bit of cheekiness. All in all, I really liked the movie, because the elephant called Rosie (not sure of the elephant’s actual name) is a real star and without her the emotions and the story wouldn’t be there. We see what happens when you mistreat them and we also develop strong feelings of hatred towards the characters that do it. In conclusion, I would highly recommend watching the movie if you’re a fan of animals and circuses. If you’re concerned about Robert Pattinson, trust me, he does a better job here than in Twilight. šŸ˜‰ I actually really liked his acting, but that’s just my opinion.

Anyway, these are only some of the reasons why I really like these animals. They are truly amazing creatures and I cannot describe here fully my love for them. I would really love to meet just one elephant, because I think that would be an experience.

What is your favourite animal? Tell me in the comments below!
