Retro games! | Q&Rage

Hello my lovely cat people!

Since this post is a day late and I have no legitimate excuse, apart from I simply forgot, I would really appreciate it if you would leave an appropriate “punishment” in the comments below. I would prefer if it was something to do with blogging/writing, but if you’d like me to take photos of where I live (no asking for photos of me or my family please, though) or anything like that, I will be happy to do so. Other than that, my question to you is what games, if any, do you like to play? 🙂

So this past week I’ve been enjoying some retro games on my PSP. They took me a while to download and set up, but they’re pretty worth it. At the moment, I’m playing Corpse Party: Book of Shadows and Silent Hill (the really old version that was released on PS3 in 2009, I think). I really like playing games like that, because they are creepy and very well done.

Not really sure what else to talk about other than the fact that I’m really enjoying my holidays and free time. 🙂

I love you all~! ❤

Religion Destroys… | The Truth

Hello my lovely cat people!

It’s almost Christmas, how exciting! 😀 It’s already Christmas where I am and I’m looking forward to morning. 😛 If you don’t celebrate Christmas, then happy ‘whatever you are celebrating’. If you don’t do the whole Christmas/Hanukkah/etc. thing, then just have a great day in general. 🙂

Now, I don’t want to offend anyone with this post, but this is my opinion and I’ll try and voice it as nicely as possible, so I hope that most of you will be ok with this. Although, feel free to leave your opinions down below as well!

Religion is one of the powerhouses of our society. Whether you are Jewish, Christian, Catholic, or anything else, you have a set of rules to follow, like with any society really. Some, well most, of the rules I can understand – be a good citizen; don’t steal or murder; don’t be angry, envious, jealous, etc. That’s fair enough (although not always possible). But some of the other rules, such as the rule in the Catholic/Christian Bible that a RAPIST has a RIGHT to marry their victims; are just so insane to me, and the people that blindly agree with that just because God said so in a book, makes me and a lot of other people really upset.

I also find it stupid how most just blindly follow their religion, without considering other possibilities, or a “friendlier” option. I mean, for God’s sake, the Bible also says that masturbation is bad. From all the stuff we learn at school, the “medical” side of it says otherwise. It can release tension, get rid of headaches, and makes you more focused for the day. I really don’t see how something so beneficial can be considered a sin.

Other things, such as don’t get angry, love thy neighbor; are, in most cases, really hard rules to follow. I mean, you can’t be expected to be nice all the time – everyone has those moments where they need to vent out their emotions and just get it out of their system. And you can’t tell me that you never ever have or had a lazy day in your life. If you are, then you’d probably be lying more to yourself than me.

Honestly, religious people can only really prove their statements/beliefs through a book full of such rules, which isn’t really much proof at all if you think about it. For all you know, I could’ve written the Bible, me or any other human on the planet. If the Bible said that pigs could fly, would you still believe that even though you had evidence to justify against that? You probably would, since the Bible also states that if you sin, which I think is disagree with what the Bible is saying, then you are going to Hell.. You are not allowed room for error, and I find that so restricting!

So that is why I personally think Religion destroys and limits our abilities to do good things and be happy. There are many other factors that I think are bad also, but these are less “mainstream” to me, I suppose.

I already know that I’m going to Hell, so if you think you’re going to join me, click that like button. 😉 I’m kidding, but if you did like this post, you are more than welcome to do so. Other than that, have safe and enjoyable holidays and I’ll see you guys Friday!

I love you all~! ❤

Zombies Run 5K! | Q&Rage

Hello my lovely cat people!

Today I’ll talk to you about an app that I recently discovered, called Zombies Run 5K (there is another one called Zombies Run, but this one is better, in my opinion), which turns you into a 5K runner in 7-8 weeks time, which is pretty snazzy! So before I go on, my question to you is: what apps have you been enjoying this week/year? Feel free to leave your comments down below! 🙂

So this app is nothing short of amazing and is actually a good way to motivate you to do exercise. The way it works is you get 8 weeks worth of exercises, which take you roughly 30 minutes to an hour. It doesn’t give you exercises every day though, which I think is a good thing. If it did that, I would be so unmotivated to do it! In fact, it tells or advises you to take one or two days off before you keep going.

In the first week, you get 3 days worth of exercises. My workout currently is a 10 minute walk, followed by 10 fifteen-second runs with 1 minute breaks, and a 10 minute free-form run, which is basically running at your own pace. So if you feel tired after those short workouts, the program advises you to just walk and not push yourself.

Whilst 15-second runs sound like absolutely nothing, it actually gets your blood pumping, and the 1-minute rests are a good way to still keep your heart-rate up, whilst feeling like you’re taking a break. Plus, I live on a hill, so those 15-second runs uphill are quite tough!

This program continues to slowly increase the intensity, adding in a few more exercises, such as heel lifts and high-knee runs, every week.

If you’re like me and you absolutely hate running in actual workout conditions, I think this program is very do-able! You get a good storyline in between, getting to know the characters, and it’s really fun to do, trust me! I actually get up earlier now to go for my runs and after exercising and having a hot shower and a few stretches, I feel so much better! It’s like therapy for muscles – it’s great! 😀

If you’re looking for a fun app to exercise to, this one is definitely worth it! It does cost a bit of money, I think it’s something under $3, but it is so worth it! So, have fun running from zombies. 🙂

I love you all~! ❤

I Don’t Find the Internet That Mean… | The Truth

Hello my lovely cat people!

Another Truth for you today, how exciting! Feel free to leave comments on the issue below. 🙂

So the internet has become a part of our daily lives, we use it for everything – from cooking recipes to watching online movies and TV shows. Of course, social media is an important aspect of the internet, as well as allowing us to connect with other people, it has become an influential part of society in that by “sharing” or “liking” something, someone’s life can change completely, either for the better or for worse. Of course, like with everything in our society, the internet can be bad, especially social media. If you put too much information about yourself online, like your exact address, your credit card numbers, who you’ve been with for the past year, etc, it can really backfire on you! People can get stalked, bullied and harassed, plus more.

I have had quite a lot of experience with the “interwebs”, mostly social media, with blogging being a new thing for me. I’ve had several YouTube channels, which didn’t end up going the way I planned, Twitter and Facebook accounts, plus a lot of other social media stuff. Most of the things said to me on those websites have been positive, very rarely have I received negative feedback or harassment. I know that I’m only one of the few people online who probably haven’t dealt with much hate, but the way I see it – the internet is a wonderful thing!

I mean, look at all the stuff we can do today because a few people decided to invent this whole world known as the internet! We can connect with old friends, share interesting stories, search for things for our school/university/work projects, etc. There are just so many possibilities! Of course, I’m not saying that internet can be a very bad thing for many people as they get bullied and maybe even commit suicide over something people say to them online. Whilst I find that understandable, I believe it can be easily stopped just by turning off your computer or phone, or simply deleting an account. However, with celebrities, or ever popular YouTubers, they have learned to deal with this hate that comes at them, simply by ignoring it. I find it kind of hopeful that all those mean comments or things people say about you online they wouldn’t necessarily come up and say to you in person, unless they really hate your guts or are plain stupid and rude.

So in my opinion, internet is mostly good, with a few malfunctions like with anything in life. Those malfunctions can be quite severe, but most of them are easily stopped. Really, what I’m trying to get at, don’t let a few anonymous, thus cowardly, bullies demean you online. You don’t even know who they are! Can you imagine what celebrities would be like if they took to heart every single mean thing a person in this world has said about them? That really would be screwed up, aye? Just treat yourself like a celebrity and don’t take those words to heart, unless it is constructive criticism that you can learn from.

I love you all~! ❤

Dancing | Q&Rage

Hello my lovely cat people!

I apologise that this post is slightly late, been out almost all day dancing!

As you probably have guessed, I’ll be talking about dancing today. So before I continue, my question to you is, what are your hobbies, if you have any? Or, alternatively, what do you like to do in your spare time? 🙂

I’ve been dancing ever since I was about 6. My first dance school specialised in jazz and hip-hop mostly, but also did some classical classes. I only did the hip-hop classes at the time, but I loved it, really! It was so much fun being on stage and getting to know people, and doing something that is challenging but also enjoyable. Dancing to music, even if not professionally, is just really fun and free. If you don’t like dancing in front of people, dancing on your own is also fun. I do that a lot, often in front of a mirror… 😀

I’ve never been that good, I think. I’m average. I try my best, always, but if there is a move that I know I cannot do, I’d rather not embarrass myself in front of a class of people. I suppose this is something that I should work on, but all in good time..

I stopped dancing for a while, which looking back at now, I’m regretting a bit. Those skills that I haven’t learned during those years, and the people that I haven’t met were the opportunities that I’ve missed out on, which I can’t necessarily get back. But I’m with the greatest dance school now and it has honestly been a blessing.

I’ve started dancing at my dance school in 2012. I’ve been to other dance schools when I came to Australia, but finally settled on one. At first, I was really shy, because at the previous dance school I was being treated like an outcast because I couldn’t do certain things. So when I first came, I kept to myself. But everyone was being so friendly and welcoming that I slowly started coming out of my shell and talking to people more and more. Now, I have more dancing friends than I ever had before and I really feel like our dance school is a very loving and caring family. X

Dancing, to me, is not a hobby. Over the past year, I’ve realised that dancing is a lifestyle I’ve chosen for myself. And it’s not all about learning dance moves, we also learn to be respectful, caring and kind towards others, giving them a chance (at least at my dance school). I hope that in the next few years I learn and do more things and that I improve, but I know that I have found my dance family. ❤

With our annual concert coming up tomorrow, we're all so excited to share what we've learned and to perform. I love being out on the stage and it just feels natural. Plus, you're acting, so you forget about problems for a while and just let go… It's indescribable unless you've experienced it yourself.

I hope that you guys have something that you love as dearly as I do dancing. I love you all~! ❤

Feeling Emotional… | The Truth

Hello my lovely cat people!

So, on today’s Truth, I’ll be talking about emotions, specifically about the freedom to express them. Again, feel free to leave comments below about your personal experience and stuff, it’d be much appreciated. 🙂

Everyone has those days where they feel the need to express their true feelings. I’m talking about any kind of emotion: “crazy” fun; sad; angry; etc. But what really annoys me is how we as humans create stigmas or we can judge people because of the way they try to stay true to themselves. This especially backfires on men. Let me give you an example.

I was watching a video on YouTube the other day, it was more of an interview type thing, where several men were asked about what makes them cry. Personally, I don’t think this should be done at all. I feel like men are seen as weak or “girly” when they cry, which to me is ridiculous. Anyone is entitled to express themselves in any way they like, as long as it doesn’t hurt others or themselves. So why should men in particular be ostricised and “made special” for crying? Feeling sad or feeling so happy that you cry is normal and natural – everyone does it. You may not admit it to others, but you can’t tell me that you haven’t cried at least once in your life. If you do that, you’re only lying to yourself.

Men crying is seen as a rare thing, if ever seen at all, and I think that is wrong! I personally think that men crying is a good thing and shouldn’t be thought of as weak, incompetent, or any other kind of crap. It mean if men, or people in general, are crying in front of you, they are ok with expressing emotions in front of people, and these are the people you should stick to. This is because they are less likely to lie about how they are feeling, or pretend to be someone they are not. I think that’s what a lot of men are afraid of – being seen as someone who is not themselves.

Can you imagine what a chaos it would be if that same channel posted a video about what makes women cry? Because people would be like – women cry all the time, this is ridiculous! And that in itself is kind of sad. That would further tell us that women are more free to cry or to laugh or to express any other kind of emotion in front of someone. Well, it’s about time we change things, aye?

That’s all from me today, once again – let me know what you think! 🙂 I love you all~! ❤

Music Favourites | Q&Rage

Hello my lovely cat people!

This is a new series of mine, Q&Rage, where every Friday I would talk about something that I have liked or thought about in the past week that caught my attention and then leave you with a question to answer for the comments. It’s not a compulsory thing, obviously, but I thought it would be nicer to get to know you guys better and grow stronger as a community. 🙂

My favourite for the past year, actually, not just week, has been music. And whilst music is a favourite for a lot of people, I feel like music has been a very big part of me this year. It has gotten me through some very tough times and let me cool down when I needed it. I listened also to a lot of upbeat music when I went to several parties this year, which was a good way to forget about my other problems that I had either at school or at home. It had also helped me to come out of my shell as a singer, as I performed for the school with one of my favourite songs at the time. Even though it didn’t go as well for me, I received a very positive response from a lot of people, which gave me confidence to potentially perform again in the future.

Now, for my recommendations for music, here are my Top 10, not in any particular order. This is not sponsored by any person or company, just something that I’d like to share with you guys. Give it a listen, if you like, in your free time and maybe get it somewhere. 😛

My question is, how did music impact on your life this year? What music did you really like this year? Leave your comments below, as well as some music suggestions, I would love to listen to them! 🙂

1. BANKS – GODDESS. This is SUCH a great album! The singer, Banks, has a very Lorde or even Florence and the Machine voice, in a couple of her songs. It’s more of a Pop album, so if you’re not that into this genre, I wouldn’t recommend it for you. I especially enjoy Alibi, This is What it Feels Like, You Should’ve Known…, and Fuck ‘Em Only We Know. But really, all the songs are amazing!

2. BETTY WHO – SLOW DANCING (EP) and TAKE ME WHEN YOU GO. These two albums are also really great and again, Pop genre. I’ve found this singer through a YouTuber, Tyler Oakley, who used one of her songs, Heartbreak Dream, in one of his videos. I’ve listened to her songs since and I’ve been loving them a lot! Along with that song, I also really like California Rain and High Society from her new album, Take me When You Go.

3. THE CHILD OF LOV – THE CHILD OF LOV (BONUS TRACK VERSION). I’ve found this artist only yesterday and this is more of an electronic Pop. His style is very different, I feel, and would not be something for everyone, as the harmonies in some parts are really absurd and sound like they are really out of sync! But there is something about his music that I really like… Since I’ve only listened to 2 songs on his album so far, I can recommend Heal and Call Me Up. If you like, I can keep you updated on the rest of the songs, let me know in the comments! 🙂

4. CHVRCHES – THE BONES OF WHAT YOU BELIEVE. Once again, I have found this artist through a YouTuber, Marzia, who was talking about her music favourites. This is very Electronic, again, but also has a Pop feel to it. The music is very relaxing, to me anyway, and I find it enjoyable. The tracks that I particularly like are The Mother We Share, We Sink and Lungs. There is also a vinyl copy out there, like most of the music nowadays really, and I can see how this particular style would sound amazing through a little crackle from a record player. Definitely would recommend!

5. EMAROSA – EMAROSA and VERSUS. I’ve found this band this year as well, but my god, they are truly amazing! If you are into Heavy Rock, or Rock in general, these two albums are definitely for you. The lead singer kind of reminds me a little of Papa Roach. 🙂 From the two albums, my favourites are A Toast to Future Kids from Emarosa, People Like Me We Just Don’t Play and Cliff Notes from Versus.

6. JAMES VINCENT MCMORROW – POST TROPICAL. This artist I have also found through Marzia and let me tell you, his voice is amazing! He’s probably a Soprano, in musical terms, which for a man is quite amazing. He also kind of reminds me of Bon Iver, as he’s got a similar-sounding voice to him. Like Marzia mentions in her video, his voice is very innocent sounding, but his songs actually hold a very deep meaning. My favourites are Cavalier, Red Dust and Look Out.

7. KONGOS – LUNATIC. I’ve found this band only a few days ago, but they are so good!!! They are an Alternative genre, for sure, but are also quite Rock-y in some songs. Some favourites from their album are Come With me Now, This Time I Won’t Forget, and It’s A Good Life.

8. LILLY WOOD & THE PRICK – THE FIGHT and INVINCIBLE FRIENDS. These guys are amazing!! They also sort of remind me of Florence and the Machine, which I really like. Their genre is, once again, more Pop or maybe even Alternative. Some of the songs that I really enjoy from both of the albums are, Where I Want to Be and Le Mas (although this one is a little weird..) from The Fight, and Hey It’s Ok and Cover My Face from Invincible Friends.

9. TIM MINCHIN – ALL OF HIM! (not the name of the album, just by the way 😉 ) Tim Minchin has been my favourite for a while now, but this year I’ve been listening to him more than ever. He writes his own songs, he’s an Australian comedian and an amazing piano player! Like really, especially his jazz-y stuff…. His songs are very relatable to the “times” and are very truthful also. He does swear a lot and is not religious, as well as many other things, so if you are easily offended, I would not recommend this one. Some of my favourites from his works are Confessions, Prejudice, Cage-Nerd, White Wine in the Sun, Thank You God, and Not Perfect.

10. PENTATONIX – VOL. III and THAT’S CHRISTMAS TO ME. I’ve been in love with this group for so long now! This year, they just kept bringing everything to the table. These guys are definitely a Pop genre group, but they are also an acapella group, which means they sing using only their vocals. I really like the bass singer, Avi, he is my god, honestly… Some of my favourites from those two albums are Problem, La La Latch, Standing By, That’s Christmas To Me, White Winter Hymnal and Winter Wonderland/Don’t Worry Be Happy.

There are so many more artists that I would love to list, but cannot, since it will be a very long post, but if you’d like me to do another Top 10, let me know. 🙂 Just on a side note also, most of the genres I’ve listed here are Pop and Electronic, but are not the only music I enjoy. I’d say my favourite genre is Alternative and Rock, so don’t think I’m just a Pop queen. 😉

I love you all~! ❤
