A Little Update

Hello my wonderful cat people!

I thought I would tell you quickly that my first day went really well! 😀 I’m really liking my university experience so far (for anyone wanting tips, read my previous post 🙂 ), and I’m super happy that I moved up to the mainland! Also, if any of you would like to read a “general experience” of my uni life so far, let me know – I’d be super happy to write a post up for you guys. 🙂

Still unsure if I want to write the review of Remember Me, because it’s just terrible. 😛 However, I will definitely write a review of the Sleepy Hollow classics, and maybe a few others!

Also, if you’re a TV show fanatic like myself, let me know what TV show reviews you’d like me to do! Although I don’t promise that they’ll be spoiler free, so you have been warned. 😉

Other than that, I’m pretty much just getting back to my normal routine, i.e. waking up before 1pm and studying and actually paying attention in class. 😛

Hope all is well with you guys!

I love you all~! ❤

P.S. Also, I just realized that I didn’t do the A-Z Challenge this year, which is really sad, because it’s one of my favourites. 😦 So if you’d like to read those posts, let me know, and I’ll do them next month (so, from the 1st of August)

How To Survive Uni 101

Hello my wonderful cat people!

Today, I’ll tell you all about surviving university! This, of course, is based on my experiences, so my advice can’t be applied to everyone. But either way, I hope you find these tips useful in some way. Let me know if you like it!!!

  1. Choose a university you really want to go to and that appeals most to you: That basically sums up everything I want to say. 😛 It’s about your experience, and if you have a choice in what university you’d like to study in, definitely do so! And don’t be afraid to ask your relatives/parents/friends/etc for help or advice. 🙂
  2. Really think about what subjects you want to do: Now, I understand that not everyone might be able to choose the major/degree they wanted, but nonetheless, if you have a choice in anything, choose the right subjects. If you do that, you’ll be more motivated to study and do well. Also, you’d be able to connect with people easier if you’re passionate about the subject/major/degree that you’re doing.
  3. Have a planned routine!!! I admit, this isn’t the rule that I always follow, but it’s always good to have a planned schedule of some sort, whether it’s something as simple as a timetable of everything that you’re doing during the week, or an hourly schedule of all your daily chores – any kind of planning helps! And don’t leave the planning until too late, because you might forget something. If you like to get creative, you could make something like a scrapbooking diary where you can do what you want. That way, it could be more fun for you to plan things! 🙂 Although in saying that, make sure that planning isn’t the only thing you do – actually do what you plan during the day/week, and tick it off as you go along. 🙂
  4. Start studying for exams early: This I cannot stress enough – you’ll save yourself so much sleep and stress this way! And if you start studying early, you have a greater chance of remembering more information, as it will have time to transfer from your short-term memory to your long-term memory. Basically, it will make it easier for you to recall necessary information during your exam without having to rattle your brain during that time.
  5. Make notes and be organized! This is also super important. If your notes are organized, you’ll be able to understand the information better. It doesn’t matter how you do them – they are for you and no one else. (Unless you’re planning to give them away, which is also cool 😛 ) So you can have whatever colours, acronyms, etc, as long as you understand what you’re writing about. Having organized notes will make it that much easier to study for your exams.
  6. Join plenty of clubs! If you’re not going to be staying at a residential college, this is important, as it will be much easier for you to make friends. (Especially since it’s a little difficult making friends in a lecture class that has more than 100 people at minimum) And trust me, there’s definitely no deficit of clubs at universities, no matter where you are in the world!
  7. Enjoy time with your friends, A.K.A., don’t study too hard all the time: Have fun with them! Go out, laugh, dance, drink, whatever! This is the only time in your life you can really try new things and make plenty of memories and friends. Sure, you could do all that after you finish uni, but it’s better to start early, because you never know what you might end up doing after. Basically, try not to miss fun opportunities just because you want to get “good grades”. If you plan your time, you can make time for both fun and study. 🙂
  8. Finally, learn from your mistakes: If you’ve failed a class, or arrived late to a lecture, learn from everything! It will make your journey that much easier. 🙂

And that’s it! Hope that helped a little. 🙂 Let me know what you think!

I love you all~! ❤

Going back to the Mainland

Hello my wonderful cat people!

It’s that time of year again that I leave for the mainland to study. I loved my first semester at uni and I can’t wait to study again! But that also means that I need to leave behind my friends and family, which is a little upsetting. But either way, I’m leaving today!

Still doing a psychology and Japanese major, and also doing a history course about witchcraft and demonology, so that should be interesting. :p (for anyone reading in Australia, it’s time to do some seriou notebook shopping in Typo!)

I also bought a beautiful edition of the Sleepy Hollow classics, if anyone would like me to do a review on that one. I have finished the second book of the Remember Me series, but it’s so terrible that I’m terrified to do a review of it. XD but if you guys would still like to read it, let me know – I’ll push through. :p

But other than that, I go back to studying on Monday, so I’ll be keeping you updated with my progress. Also, I could do a post about uni tips, for anyone still debating about life after high school. So let me know if you’d like to read that. 🙂

Other than that, that’s about all! I had a lovely time back home and I’ll be looking forward to my next visit.

Love you all~! ❤

So what’s going on?!

Hello my lovely cat people!

I’ve been spending heaps of time with my family so far, as my mum and sister are going away soon and I probably won’t see them again until December. So sorry about the lack of posts. But I also didn’t really have inspiration to write about anything…

In other news, I’ve finished reading the second book of Remember Me series, which I can’t even remember the name of… So if you’d like to read a detailed review of that one, let me know. 🙂 also started reading Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children before the movie comes out and I highly recommend it!!! It’s a wonderful read so far and I could do a review of that book too, once I’ve finished it.

That’s about all that’s going on in my life so far. I’ve just been reading and lazing about and watching YouTube. :p how are you guys going? 😀

I love you all~! ❤
