Sorry guys, studying hard…

Hello my lovely cat people!

Won’t be properly posting for today or catching up on yesterday’s post – have to do some serious studying before tomorrow. So, expect a whole bunch of posts tomorrow, and apologies to anyone looking forward to these. 😦

I love you all~! ❤

N is for New Language! –

M is for Misfits

Hello my wonderful cat people!

I’ve talked about music already, but let’s talk about some shows that I really like. One of them is, of course, Misfits. If you are unaware of this wonderful show’s existence, then I highly recommend that you check it out (and watch the British version first, because it is the better one :P), because it is hilariously funny (the first few seasons anyway 😛 ), and is also really gripping in terms of story and character development.

The show is about 5 community service adults who get struck by lightning and obtain some kind of insane powers. And I know that it sounds super cliche, and it’s definitely been done before by many. But this particular show touches a lot on relationships between different characters, and how they develop and grow throughout the discovery of their powers. But of course, what definitely makes the show’s first few seasons so funny and great to watch is the actor Robert Sheehan who plays Nathan on the show. You might’ve seen him in the movie ‘The City of Bones’ (originally written by Cassandra Clare) and might not have been very impressed. So let me tell you, your impression of him will definitely change if you see this show! Also, if you haven’t seen the movie, don’t watch it – it’s not very good. 😛 Read the book instead. 😀

Anywho, there’s 5 seasons of the show now, I think, but I just watch the first few seasons, because then the cast changes after a while, and it’s not the same. So, if you’d like a bit of a relaxing afternoon after a hard day’s work, wherever and whoever you are, then this show is definitely for you. It honestly has everything. So do check it out if you have the time. 🙂

Other than that, I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday (or have had, I should say, since this post is running very late. :P), and I love you all~! ❤

L is of Latte Obsessions

Hello my lovely cat people!

Okay, real talk. I’ve been addicted to chai lattes at one of the local university cafes here on the mainland. It’s actually crazy how big my obsession with this drink has gotten. And yes, I’m aware that for some coffee addicts, chai latte isn’t considered ‘real coffee’, and I completely understand that, since the drink doesn’t have any actual caffeine and contains mostly sugar. BUT, it satisfies my “caffeine-high” quite nicely, so I always end up going for more.

But goddamn guys, chai latte is the real deal. It’s not the cheapest of drinks, but it’s still more affordable than Starbucks Coffee. XD (which is a shame, because I am yet to try an actual coffee instead of a frappucino at that place :P)

And I swear to god, every time I go to the store and order the drink, as well as some kind of pastry thing (which, for most of the time, is the same thing), the workers there know me and have seen me before, but it’s like they don’t know me at the same time? They kind of take my order as if I never ordered these two combinations of food and drink before. Maybe it’s just me, but it’s a little weird. XD As someone who’s worked a hospitality job before, if I see people who come in regularly, I either try and remember their order (in a friendly way, of course, not in a way that would drive the customer away from the place), or I start up a little conversation with them. It’s just what I’m used to, but I completely understand if people don’t do that here – it’s a completely different business, or maybe the workers just have other things to think about, like serving next people in line and not wasting time on friendly chatter. (We’ve all been there, I know the struggle. 😛 It’s especially difficult when you get a super nice customer who starts chatting to you and you have to kindly push them along because the line behind them is so long. XD)

Okay, this random post about lattes that aren’t even lattes has dragged on for far too long. 😛 But I do still hope you enjoyed my rambling on about a drink I have almost every day.

I love you all~! ❤

P.S. Speaking of drinks, I got a free one from a bubble tea place from my university today too! It’s especially good when you don’t have much money to last you for the week and need that sugar kick to push you along for your studies. ;P

K is for Kill Me…

Hello my lovely cat people!

No, don’t really kill me (unless you’re here about the late posting issue–why am I even apologizing? It’s become a common occurrence. XD).

But, it’s that time of the semester again where I skip a bit of blogging time, and make room for some serious studying. Because assignments, quizzes, and essays start rolling in like dice at a casino. (Was that a terrible analogy to use? I’m sorry. :P)

Anywho, yes, I’m going to be doing a bunch of those mentioned above in the next few weeks, so I may not make it sometimes to the blogging world. But fear not, friends, I will return when I do not post for the A-Z Challenge. And after that, who knows what the future holds! But I’ll try and keep posts coming in on a sort of regular basis. So, no posts every day, but no absences for a month either. 😛

Hope you enjoy this little update crazy post. I know I’ve been doing a lot of those lately, but I’m pretty busy during the week even with my two days off, so I usually come home super tired and not in the mood for too much blogging – I do apologize. So I hope this format of update-y/music tastes has been keeping your brains and eyes busy whilst I study up on some Psychology and Japanese for these coming weeks. Enjoy yourselves everyone!

I love you all~! ❤

J is for Jazz

Hello my lovely cat people!

Since we’re talking about music, I thought I would talk to you about one of my favourite genres – jazz.

I can’t exactly remember when my love for jazz started, but I always remembered that I loved listening to live music in cafes or restaurants. Since then, I also wanted to learn to play the saxophone (although that dream hasn’t come true yet 😛 ).

I have a few favourite jazz artists as well. I absolutely love Kendra Morris. Her album, ‘Banshee’, if I haven’t talked about it before, is spectacular. It’s exactly the kind of music I would picture listening to at a local cafe, chatting with my family and/or friends, and drinking coffee and laughing at each other’s jokes or stories. Her music just gives you this lovely cafe vibe, and if you’ve ever experienced that, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about. 😛 Some of my favourite songs are definitely ‘Waiting’, ‘Here’, and ‘Just One More’. Again, apologies if I have talked to you about this album before, but it is so worth a listen if you want to be instantly transported into a lovely, coffee-smelling atmosphere. And the music itself also has a very lovely progression and has a range of different jazz styles.

In terms of the more “classical jazz” artists, then I would definitely say Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra, and Nina Simone, all of whom have a lovely range of songs to choose from, and who have plenty of their songs covered on YouTube for your viewing/listening pleasure. (which I highly recommend checking out, by the way)

I don’t know how else to explain it, but whenever I’m in a bar, cafe, restaurant, or anything else with my friends now and the environment isn’t too crazy and packed with people (like clubs, for example), I would really love to hear a good jazz song. As for live jazz, I will definitely need to go to a festival or something here on the mainland.

Speaking of, there was a great jazz duo playing in the city centre where I live the other day, and I just stopped in the middle of the street and listened, smiling. Jazz always gave me that careless feeling – like all my problems go away as soon as I here it. And I know how cliche that sounds, but it’s the truth. 😛

Anywho, hope you enjoyed this post, because I certainly enjoyed writing it. 🙂 I’m off to listen to some jazz music now. Catch you all later.

I love you all~! ❤

I is for ‘If You Leave’

Hello my wonderful cat people!

Again, apologies for my absence, I’ve been very busy the last couple of days and was too exhausted to post anything exciting.

But either way, here’s another review of an album by an artist called Daughter. This artist has been my favourite for a while and I’ve listened to this album plenty of times. It’s a very nice album to listsen to when you want to relax and read a book, or take a bath for an hour or so. ;P

Some of my favourite songs are Youth and Human. I’ve also tried playing Youth on guitar and I really like the way it sounds. :3 Either way, the album is very pleasant and the artist’s voice is surreal. Do give the songs or the album a listen – definitely worth it. 🙂

I love you all~! ❤
